As a close personal friend of Dame Vera Lynn, I just wanted to say how much I enjoyed this rendition. And I am reminded that Vera herself originally wanted to release this as a proper techno stomper but alas, she was denied by the usual suits at the record label. "I just want tae give something back to the people off their fucking heads on pills and shit" she said to me ruefully in a Lyon's tea shop just off Piccadilly Circus the day she learned it was to be made into a stirring patriotic ballad instead.
