My brother had one of these beasts. This turbo wouldn't kick in until about 6, 000 rpm and then you better have a good hold on it cause the turbo would kick in zoom you were gone. This bike would hit 120 in no time. I took it up to 140 one day way out on a back highway and it could have done 170 at least. I eventually had to quit riding it before I got killed, every time I got on it I was hitting 120 and I said to myself somebody is going to pull out in front of you and that''s going to be the end of life.
It had the sweetest growl to it, it had a header on it that came into one pipe and muffler and it sounded bad and it was. Loved the paint job on it with the yellow, orange and red stripe on the the gas tank with turbo on it.

I had the same bike myself. It was the fastest street bike around me. Sold it before I got killed on it.

And back then they put cheap & slippery tyres on....as I presume the display bike has original equipment those were the days, steel flexing frames, brakes (sort of), turbo lag big time, but 5 stars for trying the tech they didn't make as much HP as our current non turbo V4 1158cc Multistrada's 😆
