Great explanation of the NRB. I liked using these in particular for carbon monoxide inhalation or burn injuries in the field.

Thank you for this! I have my intro final next week and we need to know all interfaces and their FIO2 ranges and flow rate among other things. You're amazing! :D

Partial rebreathers are good for patients who don't need 60-80% fio2 but don't tolerate high flow nasal like i often see patients on high flow get some pretty bad nose bleed and complain of dryness even with humidity but I do agree you really shouldn't use a partial rebreather if you haven't attempted high flow NC

If they are dependent on NRB I also prefer airvo!

I was taught that a non re breather is a high flow device and partial re breather is low flow

How can the patient exhale or where does (CO2) go if the port or valves completely closed??

Is one supposed to administer oxygen via non-rebreather without humidification?

So unless the patient is major mouth breathing a high flow cannula would be a better option? Or are there other scenarios where you would want this over a high flow cannula? I’m not talking about airvo or vaportherm just a regular high flow cannula

Where does Egan's think the air gets in causing it to be 80% and not 100%? Just around the mask itself? Also I've had pts just prefer it over high flow NC because they're mouth breathers but I don't want to get a whole other machine

Hey man! What do you think of the Oxymask over the NRB? Is the Oxymask being used more and more that you know of?

Is it correct to allow the bag to inflate before putting it on a patient? I'm the only one that does that at work and coworkers look at me like I have 12 heads with I do it.
