One of the country's largest railway workers' unions rejected a contract brokered by the Biden administration. If no new deal is reached, thousands could go on strike in December and cause major economic problems. CBS News senior White House correspondent Weijia Jiang joins "Red and Blue" to discuss all the latest.

The best option is for the government to write and fund workers rights laws and paid leave, and they should tax the big corporations to pay for them. We can't just stop the entire economy every time the owners and CEOs of large corporations don't want to take care of their workers. They should raise the wages pay higher taxes. People should also have decent hours and ability to take time off.

This is exactly why a strike needs to occur. It needs to hurt

BS. Majority of engineers voted against but many never got their ballot or were enabled to participate as members.

Rigged vote. Union leadership tried their best to sell the TA to get it passed. Barely passed BLET by less than 1% margin and many didnt get to vote that wouldve voted no. Even after contacting the union relentlessly. They were ignored and left out to dry. If member doesn’t vote for whatever reason including union failure to send ballot to them, their vote is automatically counted as a “yes”. Same thing happened with IAM. Narrow margin but only 59% got ballots in time to even get to vote

If its economically important, youd think youd fork over the pay raise. But nope. The fat cats refuse. Quaint.

paid vacation, bonuses, plus $80, 000 plus annual salary, plus employer contributions to health insurance, plus 401k employer match, plus pension. I don't think companies are charities. Every year now they want more, Now they want paid sick leave.
