A Cantorial Tribute to Cantor Naftali Hershtik

Cantor Netanel Hershtik and numerous other cantorial heavyweights team up to present a stirring tribute to one of the great cantors of the second half of the twentieth century, Cantor Naftali Hershtik, who happens to be Netanel's father. The concert features classic melodies alongside the senior Hershtik's own compositions. Father and son sing along together during the final number, a rousing Adon Olam medley. Other cantorial performers include: Gideon Zelermyer (Congregation Shaar Hashomayim), Azi Schwartz (Park Avenue Synagogue), Chaim Dovid Berson (Congregation Kehilath Jeshurun), and Netanel Baram (Beverly Hills Synagogue). Recorded at The Hampton Synagogue in 2017 and given to us as pre-edited footage.

I am not envious of the congregants wealth. I am jealous of the wealth that enables the congregation to have these chazanim be intermediaries between themselves, basar vadam, and the gates of heaven. I have no doubt that when these voices reach the heavens, G-d and his angels start weeping. The falling tears fall upon the congregation and their sins are cleansed. Thank you for sharing the concert. You gave me much joy (despite the many tears).
