The fans do dictate if a coach stays or not. When things go bad 90, 0000 stadium can dwindle down to 50-60k for home games and that is unacceptable at Florida. We want to win and with UGA on a high we want to win even more so Napier had to win this year, at least 7-5 and a bowl win, and he has to show improvement on the defensive side and closer games in those 5 losses no blowouts, if not I think he’s gone but I want him to succeed so bad

I’m a lifelong Gator, and I see two major issues with UF. First, the fan base is nuts. Mullen was by far the best coach in the post-Urban era. The way folks were calling for his head after one down season in the wake of the pandemic is absurd. Now that we have SunBelt Billy, who may go down as one of the worst hires in SEC history, the fan base is blind to his incompetence on the field and is preaching patience for a guy who will struggle to be above .500 every year. The second issue is that the big brass at UF seems to be complacent with mediocrity. UF is a strong academic institution, and that seems to be their focus - not necessarily having championship expectations in the major sports.
