Thanksgiving dinner can get a little boring unless you have a science trick or two up your sleeve to entertain your guests. Our science guy, Steve Spangler, is all fired up for a little after-dinner science and he's joined by a special guest.

About Steve Spangler Science...

Additional Information:

On the education side, Spangler started his career as a science teacher in the Cherry Creek School district for 12 years. Today, Steve travels extensively training teachers in ways to make learning more engaging and fun. His hands-on science boot camps and summer institutes for teachers inspire and teach teachers how to prepare a new generation for an ever-changing work force. Over the last 15 years, he has also made more than 500 television appearances as an authority on hands-on science and inquiry-based learning.

His recent appearances on the Ellen DeGeneres Show have taught viewers how to blow up their food, shock their friends, create mountains of foam, play on a bed of nails, vanish in a cloud of smoke and how to turn 2,500 boxes of cornstarch and a garden hose into a swimming pool of fun.

Potato trick really impressed my five year old. My grandmother was doubly impressed to see my five year old perform the trick at your dinner table last night. We love your videos Mr. Steve Spangler. Keep'em coming!

I remember last time you showed that trick about tapping the can on the side. I've done it ever since. It was quite funny, I dropped a can of coke at work, tapped the sides and opened it. Everyone freaked out as I went to open it because I had dropped it on the floor. But I had faith in your science, Spangler. :) Thanks

Steve's producers request specific experiments depending on the time of year. We don't always have control over which experiment he does on the news. Remember, these are segments that air LIVE on the news, so an experiment he has done before was only seen when it aired LIVE. Thanks to the internet, we can watch the segments over and over and over... showcasing that he is being requested to repeat experiments!
