They clap because they’re about to make a fortune. In 6 months they can cash in millions of dollars. In some cases billions. Who cares about salary when you make way more of the stock price.

the company people are happy because they will all become very rich. the stock market can multiply a company's earnings astronomically. its like getting a super huge loan at a very low interest rate.

the exchange executives are happy because they get a cut for bringing in a new customer.

She's incorrect. Bell actually rings at 9:30 AM (not 8:30) and 4:00 PM (not 3:00), as that is when the NYSE opens and closes.

Why? Because the companies that do IPO are typically minting billionaires and lots of millionaires... so lots to cheer ;)

Easy answer. They’re “bears”. Bears are the short sellers and put holders. They get rich when markets crash.
