Big Bluff - Goat Trail on the Buffalo River

From the trailhead 3 miles north of Ponca, AR, it's about a 6 mile hike and about 900 feet down to the Goat Trail and is one of Arkansas' must see locations. It's not for young children or those afraid of heights. Most of the Goat Trail is carved into Big Bluff and is a 300 foot drop straight down to the Buffalo River.

I used to live in N Louisiana and spent as much of my free time as possible exploring the upper buffalo river area and the Ozarks/Ouachitas in general. I once camped on the front porch of the log cabin right across the river from big bluff.

I live in flatlands, but the mountains are in my blood.
