Don't think Ralston got enough credit on the day. He was brilliant going forward and did his defensive work when he had to.

This was very much treated like a friendly, and even despite that it's likely a convincing 2-0 win without the sentimental subbing on of Gordon. For a third choice winger with painfully limited gametime this season, Ralston looked fantastic for us. Sure I would rather have Hickey or Patterson, but Ralston played well beyond expectations. I also really hope we persist with starting Shankland - the main quality we need from forwards is the ability to find goal.

It's such a shame we will never know what this squad could have done with Ferguson, Hicky, Patterson and Doak all fit, but there's still enough here to be optimistic about finally escaping a group stage.
