Feels bittersweet for a dubs fan like me. I mean klay has become an important part of the dynasty but with his rapid decline, he should acknowledge his current value with the team. Nostalgia and/or pride can’t win games. If you can’t accept a pay cut or to come off the bench then it’s better to go elsewhere to satisfy you and to give the team better chances to retool. Almost similar thing goes with wiggins. Absolute win-win for a disgruntled player and the team with luxury tax obligations at this point

Hope he returns to form. they gave up his role to wiggins and kuminga after his injury . I think a fresh start will give klay his game back. This yr his avgs wernt that much lower a couple pts and a few percentage pts . Hes gonna be back to himself this year .usually a injury as bad as his takes 2 to3 yrs to completely get back to form. They should of stuck with em .

Honestly, I want him on the Mavericks. I know people say he’s just another Tim Hardaway but that’s not true. Luka needs more shooters around him and I really think with a fresh start Klay Thompson will be back.

Bro they payed him 70 million over 2 years and he didn’t play a single game, ik he was out but that’s my point . They didn’t trade or release him after him not working for his employeer for 2 years . just take the pay cut to run it back man

Maybe I’m in denial but I don’t think this means he won’t return. He might just sign again for way less. Klay is in decline but he bounced back for most of the second half of the season…. Then lost it in the play in but that’s Bo1. Point is Klay has an unstable but still real niche playing alongside Steph in Golden State.

Unless the warriors go full rebuild and trade Steph, I think letting Klay walk entirely is a mistake.

Loved klays game but this man is seriously not self aware and is as sensitive as a little girl. Golden state still gave him a big contract after his injuries, and it’s now clear as day that he is falling off. Just say thanks for the memories and move on man
