Bass' Favorite Fig Update - AZ 9B

3 year update on this common fig variety I am growing in my backyard orchard near Phoenix AZ. This variety has grown on me with some changes I made.

Glad to see your still getting ripe figs this time of year. Give me hope that I still might. It my first year growing them

We have bloody big and long bags made from insect screen but rats and squirrels still get through. Did see some metal mesh bags for fruit protection… but a bit extreme. No beetles yet! 🙏🤞

I have the beetles too in Borrego Springs Ca. and they got half the main crop. will be trying your medical tape next year.
My Black Madeira were dry and could have used extra water but many split. All my figs are in pots under shade cloth. Maybe I’ll try some in the ground but I have Nematodes in the sandy soil. Do you ?
