Its great to see you fix these great cars to amazing condition. I've owned four DSMs over the years. I've had my 97 TSI AWD for 22 years. Been always garage and barely driven the last 16 years. I've bought some rough ones fixed them up to great conditions and sold them. Wish I could have kept them but only have so much parking space.

I did the same. Eraser wheel works great on the body and doesn't damage the paint at all.

You did really well. I've had to do this before and it's a huge pain in the butt. I would rather tear down and rebuild a transmission before trying to fix old plastic body molding. So tedious... and the 3M Adhesion Promoter is absolutely essential.

I had to do this on my 1ga and it was a totally nerve-wracking experience. To make matters worse, it seems the 1ga door moldings like to shrink over time and aren't always the same exact size, and there are no clips to help guide you under installation

I have a white 92 AWD TSI Talon that was my grandfathers since 97 ish - going to try this on my driver side molding this fall. Where do you suggest buying the retainer clips that hold the inner door rubber seal in place? The rubber itself is good on my car (this was my grandfathers garage kept since the mid 90's). The little white/clear plastic clips just don't hold it in place currently.

Also, have you ever had to repair a peeling dash on a 1g? Particularly the bit on top of the glove box that always peels up. I'd love to see a video on how to do that properly, because I need to fix it on my car.
