After sending you some of the older Causa Sui CDs, I asked Jonas Munk to hook you up and he personally sent you that batch of El Paraiso albums. Glad to see you're liking stuff so far! They have a very cool collaborative spirit at El Paraiso, where the Causa Sui guys mix it up with other musicians, most recently with members of Papir (in Edena Gardens, second album Sombra del Mar out Apr 7) and Tamar Osborn (baritone saxophone, flute), Al MacSween (keyboard, electric piano, analog synthesizer, effects), and Martin Rude in London Odense Ensemble, second album came out Jan 20. One of my favorite bands on their roster is Monarch from San Diego, who venture into more rockin' psych prog territory. Their second and last album, Beyond the Blue Sky came out in 2019, and I really hope there's another coming.

Other good ones are Papir, Futuropaco, Psicomagia, Sun River, Landing, Mythic Sunship, Kanaan, Astral TV, Fra Det Onde, Chicago Odense Ensemble, Brian Ellis & Brian Granger, Ellis Munk Ensemble, Brian Ellis Group, Jonas Munk & Nicklas Sørensen, Martin Rude & Jakob Skøtt, plus Justin Pinkerton, Jonas Munk, Jakob Skøtt and Nicklas Sørensen solo projects.

Nice review, 4 stars!

Casa Sui is awesome. In fact the whole Paraiso label is awesome and worth diving into. Within the last year I realized there is a whole world of really good Nordic psychedelic/fuzz rock out there. Casa Sui, Papir, Edena Gardens, Mythic Sunship, etc. Unfortunately it seems like none of the bands are touring the US, so I'll have to make a trip out there to catch them live.

Great band and great album. I first found out about Causa Sui about 2 years as a recommendation by Spotify and I've been following them ever since. I'm often pleasantly surprised by many of the bands that Spotify regularly recommends to me based upon my listening history. They have introduced me to countless bands that I hadn't heard before, and I'm always finding something great & new (new to me).

Thanks Pete, New to discover the band. And yea I need intoxicating music at times and this is right up my alley as well. Such amazing how well the band can make their albums all so mind blowing escapism music that one can love. Like that of Floyd and some subtle ness of flows that one needs to hear and get into. Thanks so much.

Causa Sui is one of my favourite european underground bands! Love most of their albums. Check out the summer sessions. Great stuff on this 3cd set!

great band. been following them for about ten years and this May i'm finally gonna catch 'm live. Yes!
Favorite song is the first instrumental on Summer Sessions 1: Visions of summer. And Free Ride is my favorite album.

Might just be my hearing, but the opening of the album sounds like the Doors tuning up to begin the album version of their song "The End". Listened to a few excerpts, Pete, and definitely one for the listening list later today while working out in the yard. Even if it is not a brand new release, it is still new to you - and some of us. This might be the pick of the week from this weeks new product episodes. Thanks once again for these weekly new product shows.

Pete mentioned there isn't much info on the internet about the band/label. I gave some background in this review last summer:

London Odense Ensemble – Jaiyede Sessions Volume I ‎(El Paraiso)
If there’s a record label that I’m tempted to just set up a subscription with and have every release sent to me, it’s the Denmark based El Paraiso, run by Jakob Skøtt and Jonas Munk of Causa Sui. In just over a decade, they have released 67 albums (this latest is EPR067), with Skøtt handling all the cover art, making for a consistent aesthetic, and mastered by Munk, ensuring the sound of every release is top notch, along the lines of legendary jazz label Impulse! Records, with more modern influences from Elektrohasch, Causa Sui’s first home, and Norwegian label Rune Grammofon, with adventurous artists like the jazz fusion/prog/psych project Elephant9, Supersilent, Fire! Orchestra and Motorpsycho. Aside from their main band, both collaborate with many different musicians in a freewheeling approach to psychedelic, jazz, fusion and progressive electronic music. On this latest project, both collaborate with saxophonist/multi-woodwind instrumentalist Tamar Osborn (Collocutor, Dele Sosimi Afrobeat Orchestra), keyboardist Al MacSween (Kefaya), and guitarist Martin Rude (Sun River). It’s a distinct flavor from the earlier Chicago Odense Ensemble, but just as adventurous, tackling Alice Coltrane spiritual/global jazz, electric voodoo funk Miles, and kosmische musik. It’s satisfyingly trippy, with cosmic sounding burbling analog synths on top of the jazzy instrumentation, a perfect balance for fans of both the more avant garde jazz of earlier release from the Rude Skøtt Osborn Trio, The Virtue of Temperance (2022) and the Berlin School style electronica of Videodrones, After the Fall (2022). This label featured one of my favorite new bands, Monarch, and as I impatiently await their third album, I’m pretty much excited to hear anything the label comes out with at this point.

Great album! It feels so good, crazy good songs all the way through.
I was in ecstasy while tripping around Europe / Scandinavia, the summer of 2017 for 3 weeks just camping, seeing a bunch of festivals and catching Causa in Beelen, Germany at Krach am Bach festival. Just a sublime band. They KILLED IT there. They can take you to many places and moods with various tempos with ease it seems. That German hash was top notch as well....hash & Causa Sui are like peanut butter and jelly.
I like Papir a lot too, saw them as well as Elder & Mother Engine. Wowzers. The rest of the bands were a tad too doom-metalish for this freak. But it's all good. Europe with Scandinavia are the kings of stoner / space rock festivals. There are always 2 or 3 a week wherever you are just 2-3 hours away. Amazing.

~~~ Recommendation:: Please Try The One And Only Release by 'Mantric Muse'. It's fantastic!! Find a used one if you need...just get it :) ~~~
Peace! Thanks for the great channel.
Causa Sui are awesome. Euporie Tide is my favourite. Szabodelico has a strong Surf Rock bent, which is really cool.
This is clearly a kind of tribute to Gabor Szabo. Check out his album called Dreams.
