Dessert for breakfast?! Yes please! Creamy porridge topped with homemade cherry jam and flaked almonds... delish! 😋⁠

serves 2, ready in 15 minutes

🛒 recipe ingredients
For the porridge: ⁠
120 g porridge oats⁠
500ml unsweetened almond milk ⁠
1 tsp almond essence⁠
4 tbsp Sweet Freedom GOLDEN SYRUP⁠

Cherry jam:⁠
200g frozen cherries⁠
2 tbsp chia seeds⁠
2 tbsp Sweet Freedom GOLDEN SYRUP⁠

Optional extra topping:⁠
Fresh cherries ++ flaked almonds ⁠

👩‍🍳 make
1. First, start by making the cherry jam by placing the frozen cherries in a pot and cook over medium heat for about 5-6 minutes, until they soften.⁠
2. Use a potato masher to mash the cooked cherries.⁠
3. Stir in the GOLDEN SYRUP and chia seeds. ⁠
4. Next, cook the oats in the almond milk in a saucepan over medium heat to desired consistency. ⁠
5. Stir in the GOLDEN SYRUP. ⁠
6. Pour into bowl and top with the cherry jam, extra fresh cherries and a sprinkle of flaked almonds ⁠
