Vincent wasn't able to wear his prosthetic due to painful neuromas that formed on his amputated leg. A Neuroma is a growth of nerve tissue at the site of the nerve injury that can cause serious pain and discomfort. He had difficulty finding an amputee pain management doctor who would do the work to fix his neuromas and phantom limb pain until he met Dr. Zuhaib Ibrahim at The Institute for Advanced Reconstruction at The Plastic Surgery Center. Dr. Ibrahuim treated his neuromas using Targeted Muscle Reinnervation surgery to address the nerves that have been disrupted by the previous amputation.
