The way I see it, the Afeela is so bland it’s unique. There’s so little going on and so little to talk about in the design that the defining design feature is the blank sea of nothingness in the design will be what sets it apart from others. Besides, there’s no way in hell that this car will either be affordable or have its focus on the design

If you look at it from the side (more on to the rear and rear 3/4), it reminds me a lot of the current porsche 911, especially with that sloaping roofline. Maybe they've taken inspiration from that car? 🤔 😳

Tech companies need to understand the difference between a tech product (phone, tv) and an EV. But I kinda like that car. It's emotionless but very clean, way better than the Dee concept from BMW for example

The older Sony car concept, Vision-S and its crossover counterpart (I sadly don't remember the name) were really good designs for me. This though, just silence.

They announced one year ago that they search a partner and found in spring 2022 Honda for it. To prototype a new concept car on this level in less than a year is impressive.

I miss Sony designs from the '80s and the '90s.

This bears a semblance to the autonomous police vehicle in Demolition Man.

EVs don't need space for engine and transmission yet we will have next to no diversity in shape of the cars. How sad.

The Xbox series X has a more exciting design! This thing screams ‘I’m boring’ so hard, the car version of the word ‘meh’.

I wouldn't expect a Sony company to build it with pretty design over function.
They don't build things for children to show off to their friends how awesome they new toy is, they build things that just do what they should and drive technology forward.
If your not excited because this doesn't look pretty enough then you simply don't get it, and I would recommend get a Tesla that has "ludicrous" and "insane" modes, because you never know the next one might have a "megafantastic" mode aswell🙄
The reason to be excited about this is from what it actually might be.
look at what Sony do, largely fly under the radar but change pur daily way of life without most people knowing.
A lot of people don't even know about their phones (based on their sales) but..
they were the 1st integrated 4k display
then 1st 4k hdr display
and 1st 4k hdr movie recording
and 1st 4k oled with 120hz
1st front facing camera
1st true optical zoom in a phone
1st with gigabit class download speeds
1st super slow-mo
1st eye focus in a phone
1st realtime 3d capture
1st android wearable with gps
1st 1 inch sensor
and Steve Jobs was a huge fan and used Sony as inspiration in a lot of ways building up apple and the iphone to where it is today.
Around 50% of all image sensors in the world are Sony.
- They have been a driving force in the move to mirrorless cameras
- CDP-101 the first CD player
- Walkman that kickstarted portable music.
- DCR-VX1000 brought professional level video recording to mainstream comsumers
- exmor technology changed sensors and the world of camera phones
- and now IMX989 1inch sensor
- PlayStations are 4 of the top 6 selling consoles of all time.
PS1 credited as the console that changed gaming,
PS2 credited as the driving force behind the move to dvd media for movies.
PS3 similarly credited as the deciding force that pushed blueray ahead oh hd-dvd

and to add to that.
- honda cub is best selling vehicle of all time sales is more then F-series, VW Golf and VW beetle... combined.
- honda were the first manufacturer in US to meet the regulations of 1970 clean air act
- developed the first in car navigation system
- first Japanese manufacturer to produce cars in north America
- the famous McLaren Honda MP4 in f1 secured 15 poles and wins out of 16 races and is one of the most successful of all time.
- honda motorcycle racing..most GP wins, most GP championships.
- Driving the hydrogen fuel cell
- Honda Jet the best selling entry level business jet

Sony has been driving technology forward with innovation and pushing other companies with new ideas and tech.
With honda whoop know how to mass produce reliable long running vehicles.

this isn't about does the car look pretty, this is about what this car might mean. so long as people take more them 10 seconds to think about it.
With Sony moving into the automotive market, it could be a start of another big push forward in tech and the in the way people use cars in the future.
that's why I'm because it's "watch this space" it's for people to take seriously not superficially

Don't worry. The sensors and the car will be of superior quality to any other ev on the market. Its a Japanese car with Japanese electronics after all
