I'm such a dummy, I thought you had to wait for the Meg to peak it's and charge at you with it's mouth open to do damage. This clarified things quite a bit for a newbie, thanks!

Shooting the Meg in the mouth helps lessen the holes below deck FYI. Two shots = 1 hole not 5. Can kill a Meg in 160 seconds easily.

Had my first solo Meg encounter this morning, literally first session of SoT just a few hours in. Thought I had to drop anchor and let it circle the ship. Still, all worked out for me, only took a couple hits on the ship. I like your method a lot better though. Thanks. Solo pirating is a lot of work

I tried fighting a yellow meg and halfway through the battle the damn thing just left. I was so annoyed after that and got a little worried that if I do find the rare ghost meg it might just do the same thing to me aswell
