I was born in 1960 and used to be an independent that voted for both political parties. However, the last time I voted Democrat was for Obama's first term in office in 2008. I don't see how anyone could possibly be Independent today since the two parties are more clearly different and further apart on issues than they have ever been before. It is Democrats who have gone more radically far left than Republicans have moved right.
