Using shredded paper as mulch for 5 gallon bucket gardening

Using shredded paper as mulch for gardening fights off weeds as well keeps humidity for the plants. Vermi compost worms live happily between the soil and the paper and you may feed the worms directly there. The worms will quickly help convert the food you bring them to nutriments for your plants.

I have an abundance of this stuff but I was just using it in my compost pile. Thanks for sharing this! I'm definitely adding it to my containers this week too!

Need to try this...Regret missing out on a lot of paper when I worked in a big office. Need to hunt down a source.

I shred brown paper bags. To many chemicals in junk mail and white paper.
"As for using brown paper in a vegetable garden as mulch or compost, it is generally safe to do so as long as the paper is uncoated and free from any contaminants. Brown paper bags that are used for packaging food items like groceries are typically safe for mulching or composting in a vegetable garden because they are made from natural fibers and do not contain harmful chemicals."
