I saw them for the first time in July of 1986, I was there to see Ozzie, Metallica was the opening act and was new to me. I had no idea the significance of what I was witnessing that day.

People who think they sold out on the black album know nothing. If anything the black album allowed Metallica to grow and evolve. What no one expected was how monolithic this album would become and the heights Metallica would reach from it.

I love Metallica. They're beyond iconic. How they got there is the mystery.
