Finally someone’s made a video about ERDL that I know won’t be shit.

I really miss this pattern. Such fond memories. The woodland pattern sucked.

Definitely MY favorite camo pattern and cut as well, it amazes me inside how many of these we destroyed playing as kids and teens, paint, rips, etc... Now with how collectable they are, ive regained some of my collection

My all time favorite American camo pattern.

Great video, I never knew that the fuzziness of the pattern was accidental. Pretty much every example of ERDL I've ever seen always had the fuzzy transitions between splotches so I always thought that it was intentional. Learn something new every day.

We used a very similar pattern to the US ERDL years ago. I never understood camo until we did actual concealment excercises and training. My god this pattern is good.

1 had two sets of the green dominant, 1 set of the brown dominant, and one set of the straight pocket ERDL which I wore until 1988 while serving in SF. They were much better than the BDUs for warm weather until the Army finally brought out the lightweight BDUs. A number of other members of my ODAs also had them. Can't remember how we managed to acquire them, but we wore them extensively. None with globe and anchors on them - they did not come from the Marines.

Mike, I have really been surprised by the upswing of professionalism in your videos. I have been subscribed for a couple of years and I have really noticed a difference. The amount of effort you have been putting into these recent series is really apparent. Keep up the great work! Thanks for the videos.

This _ERDL_ and the *M81 US Woodland* are my favorite's, it suit's the forest/jungle environment very well.

I'd like to see a "Uniform evolution" Video where you show the history of a countrys uniforms through the time and how they changed for example Us uniforms from WW1 to present.

Great video! I didn’t know this, but I saw a post on insta of original 1st pattern erdl jungle fatigues. Only a few hundred of them were made though so they’re extremely rare to find.

This is what my dad wore in Vietnam. He still had a few in the 90s when i was a kid. They didn't look nearly as crisp as the one in the video the were faded and had a lot of stitched tears i used to like to wear them to school.

Very informative video. If you are looking for brown dominant ERDL, try checking out the thrift stores. I have found both Green and brown dominant uniform pieces and even complete sets. Some of them are RDF ERDL though, but still a good find. ^_^

Mike, thanks for sharing the history, this and the brown were my favorites, but very hard to find in large sizes, even in the 80's . God bless !

NCHS on ebay got XL plus XXL for like $125 . So the big ones are out there if you want to follow up. Peterson's copies are about exact to issue.

beautiful erdl camouflage field jacket. Definetly prefer the green dominant version over the other variations. Still hunting for 1 in a medium regular fit or medium long

I have both versions, green dominant and brown dominant, they were my Dads when he was in 3rd Ranger battalion.
