Mayoral politics spilled over onto the City Council floor Wednesday after members resoundingly rejected incumbent Lori Lightfoot’s attempts to appoint retiring Ald. James Cappleman (46th) as Education Committee chair, replacing former Ald. Michael Scott Jr. (24th).

I’m looking from a distance now (NC) and the city looks horrible. The mayor, the city council, the police, are clearly looking out more for themselves. Lori doesn’t have near the power and influence Daley had or even the bit Rahm had and it shows. The city needs more centralized government. Ten wards instead of 50.
