As a rookie player for the Oakland Raiders, I was attending one of the required rookie camps in early June of 1975...I was staying in the Oakland Hilton having breakfast when Randy walked by me on the way out of the restaurant. As a huge fan I stopped him and conveyed how much I enjoyed their music, especially having seen them a month earlier on the East Coast part of their '75 tour. He was very cordial and asked if I was going to their show that day, one of Bill Graham's "A Day On The Green" concerts being headlined by The Eagles and The Doobie Brothers. I told him I didn't have a ticket. (It was sold out...) He took my name and said he'd leave a ticket at the "will call" gate for me. I was stoked! (It gets better...I promise)...I finished my breakfast and as I walked outside from the restaurant there were 2 limousines in front...Randy was in the back of one of them and he called my name and said, "You wanna ride with us?"...So that's my story, with many many more parts to share...I spent the entire day with them, on stage while they played, and rode back to the hotel with them...And it was all because of Randy Meisner...

My mom, God rest her soul, was always so proud to have gone to high school with Randy. We listened to Eagles albums so many times growing up. "That's Randy" she would yell out across the house. I miss you every day, mom.

The most underrated member of the Eagles. Randy's gem Try and Love Again off Hotel Cal is one of their greatest songs ever. Rest well Randy.

Stop saying he was or is forgotten, someone like Randy is totally UNFORGETTABLE take it from me, been listening to him all through my life, still gives me chills to hear him sing, so utterly unforgettable.
Unsurpassed by any others, period. ❤️

Randy Meisner is so talented and was underrated as a lead singer in The Eagles. To me, he was the best singer in the band. Randy gave The Eagles a kind of dark edgy sound with his harmonies, and the band wasn't the same when he left…

Extremely Sad Randy passed 2 days ago…..
He was a vocal 🎤Angel and he flew his highest with this gem💎he wrote 🎸🎹 with Eagles.
He was my favorite by a country mile.
Don Felder, a grateful gent I spent some time chatting with after a show said Randy was ”the sweetest guy in the music biz”

As a lifelong Eagles fan, this is heartbreaking news. "Take it to the Limit" is my favorite Eagles hit, and Randy's vocal talent is on display. The Eagles now lost 50% of its original members (Glenn and Randy- RIP. I hope you both are playing songs together in heaven for the angels.

RIP Randy. Sad sad loss. What a voice. Eagles harmonies are nowhere near as good without him.

Randy had awesome voice. He was great talent addition for the Eagles.Gave them their first number one song. Take it to the limits. Don’t think he got enough credit.

Such a masterpiece of a song, overshadowed by the other stuff on Hotel California and by his departure from the bad. It just got forgotten. RIP Randy.
