Trump listeners hear ‘lisp’ in ex-president’s voice during Elon Musk interview

Donald Trump left listeners baffled on Monday night as he appeared to speak with a lisp in his interview with Elon Musk.

The former president was set to sit down with Musk for an interview on X Spaces at 8 pm ET but technical glitches plunged it into chaos.

The chat pushed back by over 40 minutes with Musk claiming a "massive DDOS [Distributed Denial of Service] attack" caused the delay.

The complications, however, did not stop there, with listeners quickly claiming to spot a lisp in Trump's voice.

As a senior, or of any age, I would first suspect changes in dental work.
If he wears dentures, etc.

Either missing dentures (although I would’ve thought someone with his “money” would have high end dental implants), or maybe he just had dental work done that required extensive anaesthetic. I’ve read some of the excuses. It is VERY doubtful that it’s the audio. We’ve owned several recording studios, and I’ve been a session singer since I was 14. Really, the only thing that can create a sound that is something SIMILAR and that is a de-esser, and there’s really no reason to use that kind of a compressor on a speech interview. It takes extreme sibilance out of the audio. But his lisp is also in his cheek, like Donald Duck. De-esser cannot do that. Maybe he was whistling his false teeth and they applied some compression and went overboard. It is possible, but HIGHLY unlikely. Plus, they’d modify it immediately upon hearing that Donald Duck sound quacking away.
