I still love the clam shell hidden headlights of the '65 Buick Riviera the most . 😉

I was thinking, “That kinda looks like a Toronado.” Then you mentioned the front wheel drive aspect which really makes it more like an upscale Toronado.

I owned a 1978 Eldorado Barritz. It was the last of the large Cadillacs. It had a lot of bells and whistles, but it was not as cool looking as these Cadillacs!

Easily one of my top five, all-time, favorite automotive designs. The 1968 was most definitely the best of the two years. It had the advantage of proper placement of the front parking lamps, the all-new 472cid, 375hp V8, hi-perf dual exhaust system option, longer hood with hidden windshield wipers, and that new, gorgeous square, trademark Cadillac outside rearview mirror.

Very distinctive! I like it convertible, blue with a white interior...

لا ندري كيف ستنتهي كاديلاك

I’ll have to offer credit : While any Gearhead with a pulse would know exactly what a 67-68 Eldorado looks like - the fact that it was the only Cadillac model with hidden headlights was unknown to me. I’ve never thought of it, in the realm of automotive history it’s a footnote not worth any particular recognition, but it’s correct

The reason that they didn't last because the return rate was almost immediate and on every model because the vacuum lines did not hold.... If you park for a day or two with a new one your headlights or one of them would be open making the car look Lots of complaints so it was eliminated.... Lincoln Mark 4 in Mark 5 did the same as did the t-bird of the mid to late But they wouldn't have problems with theirs for years after

They should have kept it the next 2 years, 69&70. It just looked so good. GM kept the hidden headlights on the Riviera and Toronado one more year through 1969. Not sure why GM didn't like it
