Knaus high roof campervans

The idea of the high roof campervan is something which appeals to me, provided of course that vehicle stability is maintained. The benefits include a roof in the ceiling meaning more living area and storage possibilities in a vehicle which may have a footprint of no more than 13 square metres. Here we take a look at the Knaus range of high roofed vehicles.

I love the idea of the high roof, but not amused that they dont build the units all the way to the top, its a dust trap, and no doubt at some time you will put something up there out the way only to have it fall off when you are driving along. great videos, keep up the good work

I suppose you could stuff things you don’t use much up there. Scuba gear maybe or ski boots, something like that. I’d probably use it for my yarn stash, and believe me I would find a way of getting up to it 🤣

Hi you Alan. I don’t like this roof, but I like what you have under it : space and fresh air. Mauro

I also would prefer the cabinets to go all the way to the top. 1) like you said, can't reach over the cabinets 2) too hard to clean above them

I really like this van. I think for a young family, this is a great option whilst providing ample storage. Of course there are some minor short comings - the shower curtain (Possl/Globecar, Dreamer and Adria seem to have very good designs) and not using the storage all the way to the top but there is always a compromise on a campervan! The Weinsberg MQH (basically the same van) and the Dreamer XL 2021 version are on my shortlist. It'd be great if you could make a video of the Dreamer XL and let us know your thoughts.

Hi Alan, that front bed is a bit funky and shows original thinking, that does seem to be lacking in the current ranges of most major manufactures, that all seem happy to be churning out identikit copies of one anothers designs. Who will be brave enough to bring something different to the mainstream market place?

Quite interested in a high van, but primarily on a 5.4m platform and w/o the wasted space up high and the more load capacity, the better. If less than 600 kg, the second bed ecomes useless to us...

Hi Alan - I’m commenting below 😀
Feels like that would seem very busy in there with four people in but interesting to see these high roof designs, I don’t think we see them much in the U.K.

Potentially I think a high roof van built as a 2 berth would be ideal, the rest of the space could then be used as living space making a spacious van, why try to cram in an extra bed, realistically few people will use this as a 4 berth, it will be too cramped.
