I have played 4 games of rivals in div 5 and won 3. You have to pass and plan your play. Long ball plus is 100% a game changer with a tall striker for knock downs. Wing play is less important. Spend all your money on the back line

It seems this year people can’t just spam meta players and tactics this year and actually have to create tactics that suit their players .

As someone who plays tiki taka passing based football I’m loving it.
All of the 99 agility skill move rats are raging .

Octopus Evo is a bit rough of a boost for 50K at this point. Especially when you look at what you can get on the market for that price vs what you can Produce for the Evo.

If you have tall strikers you can 100% lob ball up to them from the CB and then head it on for one on one. So that’s cool

All of my opponents crowd the box and their defenders catch up to my attackers no matter how slow they are

I had a really bad time playing a narrow diamond midfield formation like last year but switched to wingers and got the two liga f objective cards and now winning most games

In games ive won, ive averaged 200+ plus passes. You need to pass the ball so much more and control the game more. To make simple chances i need to pass dozens of times lol

I think the change from fc24 futties end game is just faster than your usual standard gold start up teams. I think the gameplay animations are more realistic which makes the game feel slower . Personally I'm getting on ok with it so far

My only gripe really is that the defensive line is attached to your attackers ass at any given attack after 95 passes to get there 😭

Won first rivals on Thursday with new Zealand time, my next match player had 88 rated and higher, no doubt the meta this year will be pay to win again

The meta is very fast CB, tall fast strikers, and anybody who can actually pass in this mudded game. This is all that helps so far.

There needs to be a balance between realism and arcade like features, because the push for complete realism has resulted in scoring opportunities being drastically reduced and no one wants to play a football video game where most games end 0-0 or 1-0 it's just not fun. Shocker scoring goal in a variety of ways is fun but EA clear never get the memo.

Idk why I like the game play right now it’s different but difficult the passing for sure needs to be buffed it’s really bad and I think there needs to be a little bit more speed boost out of skill moves not as much as last year but a little more and I’d be happy mid field is still clogged and everything but it’s not as bad as last year imo

What role ++ or custom tactic is my opponent using when it makes my two cbs just turn and run back to goal like ducking brain dead zombies leaving all the space for their attacker’s and midfielders to walk though? Also has anyone else played a game where you try to run and you get the friends menu pop up?

The game is a lot better than previous years, but.. Slowing down dribbling etc makes it boring, and sluggish.
I would love a smooth experience, but EA cant deliver. Hyper motion is slow motion man
