This is what was missing from the season 4. Erlich, Gilfoyle, Dinesh, and Richard are seen as useless failures by most but they are truly competent when they want to/have to be. Erlich is usually the joke, the loser, but without him Pied Piper would not have gotten as far as it did, and he can actually navigate the business world in a way that Jared can’t. And he often has good insight out of nowhere, like when he was able to tell Monica about ed Chang’s coup which led to her getting a better job at Laurie’s new firm. He had something to offer, the whole cast did but the writers decided to really make them succumb to their flaws and self sabotage themselves in season 4 and Erlich especially got fucked. After everything he did he just gets left high in Tibet? Really? At least Richard seems to have gotten over his flaws and we can expect better for season 5.
