Apple recently announced that it was intentionally slowing down older iPhone models in order to preserve battery life. This had been a long-standing conspiracy theory floating around the internet. Apple lowered its battery replacement fee to $29 in response.

However, many people have found it difficult to get Apple to change their batteries. We went to an Apple store to see what would happen when we tried to have the battery on an iPhone 6 replaced. Apple recommended that we keep the original battery.

Tech Insider tells you all you need to know about tech: gadgets, how-to's, gaming, science, digital culture, and more.

If she bought her phone in July 2017, her battery should be fine. No surprise there, that was less than a year ago.

Does the battery replacement program only available in US or the whole world?

I've had my LG G3 since launch, swapped out the battery twice and recently screwed on a new frame and LCD. It was just as easy as replacing a tire on your car and it looks completely as good as new. I hope phone companies build better repairable phones in the future, I can tell the gap in the market is getting bigger when it comes to top of the line specification devices.

Before Apple explained the issue, how you managed to calculate the upgrade is needed after two years?

Why do you complain a lot for this? Having a phone bought in less than 7 months ago with 94% means that the phone is fine. According to Apple: the battery should be 80% of its max capacity within 2 years of usage.
The battery protection function to decrease the performance of an iPhone only enables when the battery max capacity is below 80%.

Buy a Samsung phone, never have to go Samsung store to pay any €$. your storage will never full/Never run out of power. Never pay any $ to download your favorite musics.

But even with new battery doesn't u said that apple slows down the software? So its based on the production year.
