Spring is coming soon along with Easter which means an influx of rabbits being purchased impulsively! So today we go over many really important questions you need to ask yourself before getting rabbits, determining if the pet fits your lifestyle BEFORE you get them can help prevent disappointment, stress and having to rehome them.

Ahhhh I'm happy to finally get this video up, I know rabbit videos aren't the most popular on my channel but regardless I own rabbits and care just as much about them as I do hamsters! And maybe if you don't have rabbits or plan to get any the video could still help you the next time someone wants to impulse purchase rabbits! 🐰

For those of wanting to experience owning rabbits but are not sure they work with your lifestyle or you don’t know if you can commit to them for 10+ years then fostering is a great idea it is budget friendly as the shelter will provide everything
from a x-pen to hay to toys and food. The only 5ing you need to provide is veggies and love💗 It is a great way to look after rabbits while they look for a new home and can be really rewarding, you can also see if a rabbit works in your lifestyle and is the right pet for you. The shelter also covers any vet bills and check ups. I fostered too harlequin dwarf lops from my local shelter about 1 month ago and it is great. I hope this helps some of you. Great video as always Victoria 💗

I’ve been wanting rabbits so badly these past few weeks and i’ve been researching a lot! I’ve realized that owning them wouldn’t be possible while I am owning my guinea pigs because it would be too expensive for me lol

To add onto the vet care, be sure that there is a rabbit savy vet in your area! Ask for credentials because cat/dog vets do not have the training for rabbit care/treatment/surgery etc. Despite my city have a couple exotic vets, none of the emergency (weekend/overnight) vets are rabbit savy.

I am glad that people like you are already creating these types of videos to prevent impulsive buying around Easter. Rabbits are a 10+ year commitment, not a gift.

Perfect timing for this video! easter is the worst time of year where buns get sold

This kind video is why my kids and I never miss a video. When we decided last year to get a pet I found your channel. I watched ALL your videos and learned that a hammy was right for us. I built him a giant IKea 900+ sq.in. tank. Also because of your videos this winter when Hemberly developed a respiratory infection I recognize it right away. I didn't take no for an answer about waiting two days to see a vet and was able, with the help of the vet, to save his life. All of this was because of you and your videos! I am also an elementary teacher and I have "taught" two teachers about Hamsters and both decided that a hamster in a small cage in a K and 2nd grade room would not be the best option for them or the animal. Thank you for all you do!

I’m not sure if anyone else commented this but you could get hay from a local farmer. A bundle of hay (about 50-60lbs) is typically $8-$10. You could find organic hay(so no sprays or pesticides) save a lot of money!!
Love this video! I was contemplating getting rabbits but I’m not sure it’s right for me at my current home now. ☺️

I'm so glad this video was made, a lot of rabbits are impulse-bought for easter (mostly for children who don't know how to handle rabbits), are kept in tiny hutches or cages outside, and many times are "released into the wild" a few days after easter where they die. I hope this kept at least one parent from making that decision, and saved a bunny's life.

I'm in the process of getting my own home all to myself and I would really like to adopt a bunny, and dedicate the whole room to them. I would be open to adopting siblings, so that (maybe/hopefully) they are already somewhat bonded. This video is going to help me decide what is best 🥰

I love how you do this types of videos, it's very important knowing if you can care and how to care for an animal. They're not toys, but living beings that deserves the best, even if don't like rabbits.

How are your bunny videos not popular?! They are the main reason I am subscribed ti your channel 🐰 great vid, bunnies are not toys to gift. I hope this video gets millions of views so that people make a smart decision when it comes to getting a bunny. 💛🐰🙏🏼

the allergies point is definitely a great one to bring up!! i had guinea pigs when i was younger and i never had allergies to anything before so that wasn’t even a thought in my mind when we got them. but it turns out i’m allergic to their dandruff and hair. though it’s not a detrimental allergy so we kept them for their entire life span

This idea is important for every pet, I'm glad you made a video for rabbits too! <3

After having 2 hamsters that both died young I decided that they just weren't the pet for me. I was scared of being bitten, everyone called them "mice" and that annoyed me, I wasn't seeing them often and other factors. But I have no regrets that I tried. Now I have a kitten and she's much more better for my lifestyle and what I wanted in a pet :D

You do not understand how many people I’ve been trying tell that rabbits are soooo interesting and smart

I use to watch your videos before and during the time i had a hamster; you were such a big help. Glad you popped back in my feed!!!

I was thinking of getting a rabbit, but you made me realized this is not the pet for me. I thought they were lower maintenance than a cat, but i see they are some where inbetween a cat and a dog. Too much responsibility for me at the moment. Maybe ill get one when im done traveling.

Thank you ❤

I went from using a really small cage for my rabbits to giving them a room for themselves with the stuff they need!thank you Victoria!

I learned so much about rabbits that I didn’t know. Your videos prove again and again the importance of researching a pet fully before getting it, and maybe even making the decision that it is not a fit. And great timing…with Easter around the corner - with every pet store pushing their impulse purchase.

I've done a lot of rescue but only one rabbit. Someone dumped it at my property not too long after easter. Actually found him a wonderful home with a couple who had recently lost their rabbit and it was the same breed! I have too many cats and dogs. There is no way they would thrive. They are so adorable! Very informative video.

Excellent video, Victoria! You have really helped me with my hamster care, and research, and got me passionate about hamster care in the first place! Now my hammy is living in a cage that is 775sq inches, with 8 inches of bedding and plenty of enrichment! I can't thank you enough! 💕💕🐰🐹
