It's personally comforting to me to know there are others like me in this world who are as deeply touched by this lovely enchanting music as I am. None of my personal friends seem to understand or appreciate it's sacred endearing quality.

Pearl harbor is one of my all time fave movies. The beginning of the movie when this melody plays i already get emotional. Beautiful doesn't begin to describe this

Atleast twice a year I play this song because I grew up watching this movie with my grandparents who played such a huge piece in my life. My daughter is 6 now, going on 7 in 3 months and my grandfather passed away just a few months before she was born and this song helped me process his passing and not being physically here for her birth. His legacy and memory lives on through me.. for anyone who lost someone special or ever feels like "when will the pain go away" just be patient and in time it will subside but you'll never forget those people.

This music (as does the movie) so captures the emotion of that difficult/terrible time in our history. From 1988 thru 1993 I lived and worked on Hickam AFB. What an experience. I worked in the building that was a 3000 man barracks where 35 men died when a 500 pound bomb struck the dining hall portion. I believe it was in the 1950's when it was converted into office space and became the Headquarters for the Pacific Air Force. Every day I would be reminded of that time as I would walk past parts of the building with bullet holes in the steel stair casings and pock-marks on the outside of the building from bomb shrapnel. Visiting Schofield Barracks, Pearl Harbor, Ford Island and the Arizona Memorial. The list goes on, and then to have our kids see all this history first hand as they were growing up. As another person said here, this music touches your soul. It really touched mine as well...

The first score Tennessee is everything to the movie. Played a zillion times. Hans Zimmer is just legendary in score compositions....

That someone can pull something so beautiful out of the human soul and set it to music is simply amazing. Like a breathtaking sunset, this music makes me want to soar and cry at the same time.

Finally watched this movie over the weekend, and it was FANTASTIC. It’s a story of how a close bond between two friends gets them through one of the most infamous moments in our nations history, and quite simply, teaching the lesson to never give up hope no matter how challenging something may feel

My father was a 3rd Generation Navy man in the Pacific at Okinawa during WW II. My Father-in-law was in the Imperial Japanese Navy at Okinawa at the same time. They both survived the war. I am a 4th Generation Navy man, stationed in Japan for 16 years, a Vietnam Veteran, and Honorably Retired. I sailed through Pearl Harbor twice in my career. I sailed through many historical battle sites in the Pacific. I did a lot of cross training with the JMSDF while I was in Japan. And I met the composer in my civilian career several times. No one else could have composed this music. It has had a tremendous meaning and effect for and on me. And yes, it is quite emotional for me. I will never forget the sacrifices that navy men on both sides made in the war and honor their service forever.

The events of WWII were real. The brave men and women who fought for our freedoms were real. May their sacrifices never be forgotten. That reality makes this beautiful music even more spiritually haunting and reaches to the depths of my soul. God bless them all.

Every time i hear this music, i wonder and question myself “how on earth can someone make this magical music”. It’s spell bounding and takes me to different times through it’s roller coaster rides traversing across different emotions, feelings and memories
