Closest MotoGP Last Lap Battle Ever at the Czech Republic Grand Prix
Показать описание
Brno has been a fixture on Europe's motorbike racing calendar since the 1930s, but as a road race in the towns and villages surround the Czech Republic’s second city. In the early 1980s a purpose-built racing circuit was then created in the forests outside the city with a view to bringing Formula One to the region, but instead it's MotoGP that has made Brno home. The Brno circuit stands in a natural bowl edged by forest, which affords excellent views of the action for spectators, and the undualting, tehcnically demanding track is a favourite among riders and fans alike, often delivering incredible racing.
We have dug through the MotoGP archives to find three epic moments from the history of the event, beginning with Max BIaggi's almost-crash after a wheelie over the finish line nearly ended in disaster back in 1998.
Next we re-live an amazing last lap battle between team mates Alex Creville and Mick Doohan which ended with a photo finish. Just 0.02 seconds separated the two across the finish line.
Finally, 2012 saw an amazing race between Dani Pedrosa and Jorge Lorenzo with Pedrosa managing to win on the last lap.
We're looking forward to seeing more epic racing at Brno this weekend!
