Today's question is: most of my dendrobium leaves have lots of black dots on it lately and they don't look healthy at all... Do you have any tips to stop it?

I don’t know what I would do without your advise. Thank you so much, I have learned so much. I now know how to care for a very special gift my husband gave me.

Thank Danny, I had these same spots on one of my Dendrobium and sprayed it with Physan 20. I think mines is due to the sticky droplets because I have fans blowing and it’s the only one with it. Hope you had a wonderful Christmas. It great you had this older video for me in the future to see lol. Be safe!

I've had this happen to my plants as well. I got them out of the sun and that took care of the problem. Thanks for posting this, it was very helpful. :)

What if a new leaf grows with spots already on it, unlike the previous leaves? This is my friend's plant, so that's all I know at the moment, but I have a picture I'll send you. Thanks for your help!!

Speaking to an orchid grower in my area said to much moister in the cool temperatures create the black spots, a bit like mold, won’t hurt the plant tho.

there are small back spots on the back of the leaves of my orchid, as well as what seems to be a thin layer of white frosting-like thing, is it normal?

Can you suggest a routine for spraying Hydrogen peroxide as a preventive measure. Also can we spray H2O2 on healthy orchids? How can we disinfect the media of potting to prevent fungal infection.

I have an orchid which is in excellent health above 2 older leave, growing 2 flower spikes, new leaves and aerial roots. The 2 older leaves have what looks like sunburn damage and then black dots around the damage. I do not see it spreading to other leaves, but I am worried about it and wonder if you would recommend removing these leave, using cinnamon as you describe in another video? Or do you think I should not worry about this?

I thought this video would help, but my Dendrobium has a singular spot on one leaf. It looks similar to an eye, with a white ring and a black spot in the middle. Any idea what this could be or is it the same fungal infection?

Danny I have an orchid plant in strips of Black coming out when we leave but on the corner has gotten quite a few spots I guess they're not bad for two strips of black and that and then one leave at the tip of it is get some black on it too and it started to split down the middle what can I do for that do I put the Prock side on it and if so how often. Would you please help me or do I go buy something for it and if you could tell me what would be the best time to buy because I have never had an orchid so I'm not really for sure

When you say high humidity, would this be over 60%? Mine is between 45-59%. Thanks

Awesome! Thank you Danny for the tip... Will analyze my dendrobium now to see if it's the sunburn or hydrogen peroxide might help. =)

Hello Danny,

Would it also be fine if I soak a tissue with peroxide or fungicide and sweep the affected leave with it? I am usually very clumsy with sprays and am afraid that water might get trapped in hard to reach areas of the orchid and cause some sort of rot :( I recently got a blc orchid and it has a few black spots that do look like fungus so I would like to treat it with some peroxide, but I am somewhat scared to spray and cause some rot. What do you suggest?
