I think it looks great but nobody could sit on it for very long. If you shifted your weight in any other direction than straight down The nails would fail. An unbelievably insufficient joint. Try using some mortise and tenon or half lap or dowels or splines or anything else. Lawd

Beautiful but that might be the wrong material for the seat. I can’t tell for sure but it’s very thin. It will stretch. Might need to use thicker leather if it dies over time. And pull very very tight

Yea have fun sitting on that… There’s a reason why wood workers/carpenters don’t just use Brad nails to fasten chairs together… There’s not structure to that bench and the first maybe second sit and you’re on the floor…

Looks nice but sadly it won't hold any weight as it was built incorrectly. Those are 2" finishing nails which are not load bearing. Don't follow these instructions as you'll sit on this and go right though

This is Chaarpaai. In India (especially north India) we have these type of beds in almost every house in rural areas(especially in previous years as modernization is taking place in rural areas too). We make this in the form of bed not like benches and trust me they are comfy and you'll enjoy sleeping in that.
Children use this as trampoline also😂

Looks really nice, I would use some stronger fastener for it to make it last much longer. It would take more time and money but I think if you're already putting that much effort into your project, an extra few bucks are well worth it. Very nice bench. 👍😉

This looks very nice, but wouldn’t you rather use screws for something that is going to be holding so much weight? It doesn’t seem like finishing nails would be enough.

Honey theres no glue, no load distribution, no strong fasteners. All your load goes from your brads into the end grain of Softwood. This transfers the load of the lignin of the wood, not the fiber. All your load needs to be distributed to vertical grain.
