The Purple Book is a blend of dictation and unit studies including poetry, oral presentations, and speech making. The updated third edition is even easier to use with added vocabulary and spelling exercises. Lessons integrate all the fifth grade language arts skills: grammar, creative writing, composition, spelling, higher-order reasoning, and study skills.

This is because LLATL have done an upgrade on the artwork as well as some minor changes to the content. My son is going into the 5th grade next year. I did the Orange and Purple assessments and he is definitely only ready to do the orange book. We are doing homeschool through a charter school and they want him to do the orange and purple book simultaneously. Do you think that is a good idea? Or do you think that would be too overwhelming?

Yes, Number the Stars replaced the Meet Addy reader a couple of years ago - Meet Addy is still available to purchase but Number the Stars replaces the Meet Addy book study

I see the 3rd book listed as Number the Stars rather than Addy. Has this changed?
