Former UN Secretary-General Annan passes on at 80

Former UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan has died. The international diplomat is understood to have died this morning in Switzerland after a short illness. He was 80 years old. Annan served as the UN Secretary-General between 1997 to 2006. He also chaired a group of elders set up by former president, Nelson Mandela.
