Russia has denied using energy as a political weapon, amid surging prices across Europe that have sent gas bills in many households skyrocketing.

Russia, one of Europe's biggest natural gas providers, has been accused of intentionally withholding supplies.

President Vladimir Putin said such claims were "complete rubbish... and politically motivated tittle-tattle".

Russia is fulfilling its obligation based on what's stated in its contract. They're not obligated to do more than that. Period.

Russia supplies only 30% of the entire European market. Why don't the Europeans talk about the other 70% of suppliers?

Even if Russia could help why would it? It's not part of the European Union and it's currently bieng sanctioned by this very same organization. Now that the European Union is in a gas crisis suddenly it demands Russia's unconditional assistance without any recompense?

Putin is absolutely correct. we are blaming Russia for our own poor planing driven by hatred toward Russia by refusing to enter long term contracts for gas supply. Asking for Russian to be helpful while maintaining sanctions on them and claiming blackmail.

Russia is supplying volumes in accordance with its contractual obligations. Move along, nothing to see here.

You cut Putins voice where he says that Russia has send 15% more gas to Europe this year. How funny!

Putin repeated several times that Russia, on the contrary, increased gas supplies to Europe this year, rather than reduced it. This can be said to be the key statement of this interview. BBC, of course, cut out this part.

Because Nordstream was being delayed by the most richest country in the world.

Are you whining that Russia do not sending gas to EU for free? What about the Third Energy Package? You are crazy people, you do not have gas, because you do not buying it, because of all sorts of limitations you made by yourself.

If Europe relies on Russian gas is it really a good idea to keep PISSING them off with false accusations.

Maybe the EU shouldn't have spent the last 20 years trying to undermine the Russian government.

The US ought to poke its nose in its own affairs, and leave Europe be; 'North Stream 2' is solely a European question!
