it's tough to take it's measure.


coming in after a trip to texas to visit an old friend. we grew up together and i just remember late nites in our once horse town watching indie movies back to back in his little house way out in the country in alabama. we'd get caught up in the stories. we'd usually pull three movies before falling asleep. we did the same thing this time and sitting in the airport waiting to head home i don't know how to take it's measure. we think about things like how many more times we might see each other in this short life. we spent most of the time just cutting up, drinking energy drinks and swimming. I wanted to see all his favorite spots: all the gas stations and where he worked and his old apartment and fave gas station.

ah well. here i am in the airport. many of us, each with our own afterthoughts.
