Are the Warriors Winners or Losers for missing out on trading for Lauri Markkanen this season?

Why does bulls guy keep saying Lauri is gonna be traded this year. He can’t be signed for 6 months which opens his trade availability after the deadline. Can’t be traded this season.

It's funny to listen Bulls fan talking about Lauri being injured there since part of why he played less and less games there was how Bulls ruined him 😂 No, I'm not talking about him losing love of the game there, I'm talking about the exercise routines Bulls put Lauri on. He was made to bulk which made him lose speed, jumping height and made him more injury prone. He has worked after Bulls a lot on his body (of course the work is ever going) during summers and he has been playing more every year since. Last year he didn't but he didn't really get any rest in the previous offseason. He went straight from the season to army and then straight to world cup and then straight back to Utah and it was almost time to start the training camp then. So I think his body said it was too much and Jazz didn't have any wishes to hurry him back, on the contrary.

Most other people have already covered my comments, but here they are anyways:

1) Come on Pat 😂 you’re usually one of my favorite show hosts when it comes to being well-informed on details of a situation. But you said numerous times Lauri might be traded during this season. That’s not possible.

2) While I can’t speak for the years in Chicago/Cleveland, it’s pretty clear that for each of his Jazz seasons, Lauri was healthier than what his playtime & injury reports showed. The Jazz obviously went into tank mode after the trade deadline each season they’ve had him. Not playing him was purposeful. And this doesn’t even take into account the 23-24 season where he had his army duties right before coming into play, allowing very little rest. That messes with a player.

3) Watching his development in games the last couple years, I have a lot of faith he’ll continue to improve what he can do. Especially in some isolation settings. And with each improvement will come the reassurance he was worth this deal and holding on to.

4) Overall, as a Jazz fan living out of Utah, the homer in me is overjoyed to see him stay. For numerous reasons. He deserves this.

Lauri Markanan can't get traded this year after signing this contract. There isn't enough time between signing and trade deadline to allow Jazz to trade him this year.

People also miss the fact that the contract is frontloaded. Jazz paid him the absolute maximum they can for years 1, 2 and 3. Years 4 and 5 are smaller.

This has 2 advantages, he is easier to trade if things dont go Lauri direction. 2) they can pay other players years 4 and 5.

Basically this is about paying Lauri to tank years 1-2 and maybe get results years 4 and 5.

One point that seems to have gone completely over your heads in your reference that he is "injury prone" since he sat out over 20 games in 2023-24. It was a poorly kept secret that he sat fully healthy the last two seasons because it was the oly way the Jazz could tank enough for a shot at a top 10 pick. Teams that are knowledgeable on the inner workings of the NBA and were informed and showed interest in trading for him fully knew that he was actually fully healthy in recent years. If the Jazz were contenders he could have played at least 15 more games each of the last 2 seasons, but notice his so-called "injury" games were post trade deadline. His missed games would have been minimal.

I think the hosts were not really familiar with the situation with Jazz and Lauri and it shows throughout the episode. It was like listening to some random people argue on Twitter. It is fair to point out the injuries but I don't know which team would play their star players when they switch to tank mode if there is any minor reason not to? Lauri has never been on a contending team and there has been no reason to be available especially late in the season, when many key players sit out games. Also, misspellings on the title eat away credibility. I hope David Locke listens this episode :D

We are used to the locked on trade mark standing for quality - this show contradicts that

The Bulls supporter sounds salty🤦🏼‍♂️ Lauri is not injury prone. The Jazz kept him out to lose games. He did finish the seasons with the Bulls. He’s never had any knee or ankle problems. His worst injury with the Bulls was a calf injury because he was kicked by an opponent and once he had overtraining syndrome.

Lauri wants to stay and help the Jazz become a contender, not later join another contender. And he's not trade eligible anyway until next offseason. He doesn't have an injury prone reputation either..wtf

I think The 🌁 GSW missed out on LaVine!!! Him & Steph could’ve been a Mini Splash Brothers!!! LaVine wasn’t gone help Them win 🏆 a Championship bcuz I think The Steph GSW Championship Era is Done however, They would’ve been Super Exciting and LaVine can give Them 25+ Points a Game along with sharing Ball 🏀 Handling Responsibilities with Steph & Draymond!!!

They could’ve traded CP3/GP2 or Looney/Moody for Him!!!
