China-made trains start operating on Turkey’s first high-speed metro line

Turkey’s first high-speed metro line, connecting central Istanbul and the city’s international airport, officially opened to the public on January 22, 2023, and features China-made trains. Built by Chinese company CRRC Zhuzhou Locomotive, the trains can run up to 120km (75 miles) per hour.

Don’t get confused…this is a high-speed metro line built by China. Turkiye already has a high-speed railway line also built by China that can travel up to 250 km/h.

For these Istanbul Metro CRRC trains, they might also be made in CRRC Qingdao Changchun Springfield, MA & Chicago Illinois plants and then shipped out of Boston for Istanbul

The metro line was build by Turkish companies including stations and signaling a d 30 percent of the train components . Turkey builds its own trains too. To buy Chinese was made before Turkish trains existed

Never mix politics and HSR. It will lead your country into another Indian folly where their made in japan HSR is in ulter failure unable to complete and cost over run.
