Boeing stockholders warned of tough future

Boeing stockholders got an idea of the company's current economic situation, which has been exacerbated by the coronavirus pandemic.

The trouble with early retirement incentives is that Boeing needs to retain experienced engineers who know how to design safe aircraft. They seem to be a little short in that area already. A complex technology company like Boeing needs an engineering culture which gives the company continuity over the long haul. If they lose too many key employees who can impart the culture to the next generation, they risk losing it (and may have lost it to some extent already). Such a thing cannot be rebuilt from scratch.
