I admit, when I visited Spain I really thought I'd be able to find tortilla chips of some kind at the grocery store. Thankfully, a US immigrant intercepted my friends and I (and let us know Fritos would be our only option for corn chips) before we offended any Spaniards with our ignorance.

I was well aware tortillas aren't a Spanish food, but I guess I assumed Spain's former colonies in Latin America would've had more of an impact on its cuisine. I mean, chicken tikka masala is basically Britain's national dish! 😆
