Bargain Store Project #7 - Whistle for my Rat

In this episode I use a "Sound Activated Key Locator" to provide eyes and sound for one of my Halloween rats. This is a very simple project, the rat is not exactly 'scarey' but it does respond to my whistle.
The build process is almost identical to the rat I modified in episode 5 and I use the remains of the tea-light I had left in that episode.

This is the seventh episode in my new project series where I will buy an item from my local bargain stores for £1 or less and use it to make something it was not designed for, preferably a toy that my grandchildren could potentially play with.

Remember, these bargain stores also sell plenty of toys for £1 or less so the project is not about making a cheap toy. It is about taking something and 'hacking' or 'repurposing' it to do something other than what it was designed to do. I am using bargain store products to limit my initial outlay.

The components are:
Sound operated Key Locator
Plastic Rat (2 for £1 at my local bargain store)
1 extra LED - I used one harvested from something I took apart.
Short length of wire - I stripped mine from some telephone cable
Battery operated tea-light - I used one left from episode 5

Tools
-
Soldering Iron
Wire cutters
Hot Glue Gun
