HIKING IN BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA - The heart of the Balkans

From our memories and the media, we mostly think of Bosnia and Herzegovina as a country at war, of Sarajevo as a city under siege... Believe us today this country has multiple facets to show and a lot to offer.
We discovered warm and generous people everwhere we've been, gorgeous and mighty mountains from Blidinje to Bjelašnica, without forgetting Prenj, "the Bosnian Himalayas"... Lukomir, the highest village of the country was a fantastic experience. Hiking this part of the Via Dinarica in winter wasn't easy, it was a real challenge but we made it!
Sarajevo is a fascinating city where so many cultures and influences meet. It is the evidence of the country and region complicated History.
In some way, we fell in love with Bosnia and Herzegovina!

Thank you for this video! I remembered the same places when I went through on Via Dinarica last year. And I met the same people as you. Bosnia is an amazing country with incredible history and the people here are amazing.

Coup de cœur pour ce pays aussi. J'avoue ne pas avoir reconnu Blidinje et Prenj, vous êtes courageux d'avoir traversé ça sous la neige. En juillet j'ai eu le climat totalement inverse, et la grimpette pour monter à Prenj (quand on vient de Jablanica dont j'ai reconnu le pont détruit sur la vidéo) est mortelle avec la chaleur :)

Merci pour ces belles images. Avec beaucoup d’euphémismes « histoire compliquée », « histoire riche » vous avez réussi à parler de la B.-H. sans aborder l’histoire récente... C’est un choix respectable, mais qui laisse un goût d’inachevé. Car, s’il y a bien un pays qui porte presque partout les stigmates de son passé récent, c’est bien celui-ci. Or, en refusant d’en parler, vous pardonnez aux principaux coupables et, plus regrettable, vous ne permettez pas de prendre la pleine mesure de la réalité. Une belle occasion manquée.
