Detroit Red Wings defense prospect Filip Hronek scored a goal Sunday in the Czech Republic's 3-2 loss to Sweden at the World Championship in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Richard Rakell (Anaheim) scored a goal and assisted on two others for Sweden, which improved to 2-0-0-0 (W-OTW-OTL-L), good for six points.
Detroit's Gustav Nyquist registered three shots on goal in 17:39. Mattias Janmark, a Red Wings draft pick who was traded to Dallas, had a goal and an assist.
Hronek blasted in a one-timer on a pass from Roman Cervenka during a five-on-three power play at 13:10 to cut Sweden's lead to 2-1. Hronek recorded three shots in 16:49 as the Czechs fell to 0-1-0-1 (two points).

Hronek made the AHL all-rookie team during his first season with the Grand Rapids Griffins, picking up 11 goals and 28 assists in 67 games.
Libor Sulak, another defense prospect for Detroit, had one shot in 17:56.
Hronek and Sulak will compete for an NHL roster spot in training camp.
Russia 7, Austria 0: Former Red Wing Pavel Datsyuk had one assist and three shots in 14:56 as Russia improved to 2-0-0-0 (six points).
