Still-life Oilpainting - How to paint textures in a brick - Artist and painter Knut Andre Vikshåland

In this video i talk about why i paint bricks and other objects and how i pick the ones i do use as "moddels" for stillifes , and how i do many lears of oil paint to create the feeling of a 3d brick. Using old holland paint i build the painting more like a scolpture, i sculpt with the paint as i would do with clay.

This is my little contribution
My Focus as an Artist and painter is the paint itself and the aesthetics that evolves wile I transfer the motif on to the canvas. I am not a conceptual artist and my driving force for doing paintings is the personal challenge painting figurative gives me. As a painter with Artists like Rembrandt Turner Leonardo da Vinci and Jan Vermeer as my objective standard I will always have to push myself to get better In painting is where it get personal for me and where I reflect in results how successfully I have used my time and in the end my short existence in this infinite universe and time.
