Heart is an American rock band formed in 1973 in Seattle, Washington. The band evolved from previous projects led by founding members Roger Fisher (guitar) and Steve Fossen (bass guitar), including The Army (1967–1969), Hocus Pocus (1969–1970), and White Heart (1970–1973). By 1975, original members Fisher, Fossen, and Ann Wilson (lead vocals and flute), along with Nancy Wilson (rhythm guitar, vocals), Michael Derosier (drums), and Howard Leese (guitar, keyboards and backing vocals) formed the lineup for the band's initial mid- to late-1970s success period

Ann in her prime was untouchable on vocals. Still to this day one of the best female rock vocalist 🤘🏼

When Ann Wilson sings, she makes it look so effortless. No matter how impressive her vocals come out, you can always tell she has plenty more in the tank.

Roger Fisher and Howard Leese don't get enough credit for the guitar work they put in

it's one thing to have a great voice, it's another thing to know how to use it. SHE knows!

The legend says that Roger Fisher heard about Van Halen (by that time Eddie Van Halen was famous because he turned his back so no one could see what he was doing with his guitar), and Roger took it to another level, he tuned up his guitar with the next setting (E - A - D - G - D - G) so everybody could see him but no one sounded like him because of his tuning.
That's why he sound so exotic even though he seems to play pentatonic scales
Sorry for the awful english hahaha
Greetings from Mexico :)

I'm a pre 1982 Heart fan. Saw them many times in concert. No in ear monitors, no pitch correction, often outdoor venues...amazing, accurate vocals from Ann as well as the rest of the band.
After attending zillion concerts over the years, Heart was top-shelf.
Your commentary is spot on.

Since you love her so much, for your own edification listen to this song from the Cal Jam 2 concert. She hits a note in that concert that is still traveling the universe. Unbelievable.

I saw them in concert many years ago. She is someone you have to see in person. Your speakers no matter how good cannot pick up the range that she can do in the life performance

Heart was one of my favorite bands back in the 80s! I saw them in concert several times and they never disappointed! Thank you for the commentary and reaction!

I still remember when they came back home to the Seattle area, from playing the bars & small venues in Vancouver, Canada. They'd been there because Ann's BF, Michael Fisher (brother of Guitarist Roger) was avoiding the Vietnam Draft. Ann & Nancy's Father, a hero in WW2, intervened with the corrupt local Draft Board to keep him out of Vietnam. Subsequently they were playing small venues around Seattle. We were too young to get into bars, but had heard the buzz around town for quite awhile about "these two Chicks from Bellevue (Seattle suburb) that sound just like Led Zeppelin." We camped out half the night in he parking lot of a nightclub in N. Seattle, trying to get the Bouncer/Doorman to keep it open so we could hear. Not long after that, they finally broke out in the U.S. I've seen them several times in the last 45 years, and they've never disappointed. I'd go so far as riding my bicycle 30 miles round trip to see a concert! Ann's voice is/was the best ever in Rock, hands down. The blood harmony with Sister Nancy is special. Nancy's acoustic guitar ability is amazing, too. Now, even @ 73, Ann still sounds great. Sure, you can tell a difference but age has taken very little. Listen to the song "Mistral Wind, " the power ballad to end all power ballads. For a truly fantastic experience showing how NOBODY can cover Led Zep like them, listen to "The Battle of Evermore" from "Live in Seattle" 2002. Absolutely stunning, do I daresay it's BETTER than the original?!!

Another great song reaction to Heart. For a bit of change of pace check out "Dream Boat Annie".

Magic Man... Inspired by Ann's real life phone calls with her mother about her relationship with the draft dodging band manager in Canada. The Wilson Sisters are from Seattle and their father served in the Marine Corp. Complicated to say the least. .

Thanks Beth as always for your great reaction to HEART..Ann Wilson is my favorite female singer when I first heard her inthe 1970's..As you know she has done amazing covers of Led Zeppelin..One of my other favorite songs of hers is "Dog And Butterfly" I think she can sing about anything..And let's not forget Nancy not only a great guitar player and back up vocals but also a very good singer too..
