Twitch is IMPLODING - The Downward Spiral

After years of trending downward, the selective moderation and left wing radicalism on twitch has finally boiled over, leading to an impending adpocalypse that will likely shake (or completely destroy) the websites future.

With some of the worst policy enforcement imaginable, and a complete lack of objectivity... the platform is now reaping the downside from letting certain political personalities run wild, in a skewed and indefensible display of platform bias.

Advertisers are becoming aware, money will be withdrawn, and the platform currently lacks the necessary tools to do anything effective about it without enormous changes to their internal policies, and painful restructuring of their priorities.

I can’t watch twitch on mobile anymore. Not only is there a bombardment of 7 30 second ads in a row, they now include banner ads that take over about 20% of the screen space. I can only watch on my PC since I have an adblocker that works well.

People don't seem to realize that Twitch relies more heavily on ads than YouTube does. And if Twitch has an adpocalypse, now that the ADL called them out on their behavior, the entire platform would be *royally* fucked.

It’s like they got a bit of power and thought they eliminated their enemies instead of realizing their fellow citizens were cool with them being in charge for a bit and trying some of their ideas. One point - I hardly ever see adverts on my PC. On any site. Yet on Twitch, when adblockers were rendered useless, the presence of adverts was in-your-face glaring. Worse, the ads always come on when when something exciting was happening. Byeee.

Nuance is important but I cant get beyond 3 mins because I feel the source is equally biased. Hannibal Directive was invoked oct 7 because one of the goals was to capture soldier hostages to trade for jailed Hamas. The Civilian hostages were actually not wanted as they have no value in such a trade. Hannibal Directive is the authorization to use maximum force rather then let a soldier be taken captive and because so man hostages were civilian some of them were killed by the IDF. I have never have been on twitch so don't know what has been said and how it was spun but you refer to the Hannibal Directive like it is propaganda when you can read about it in the Israeli news...
