Sermon | What is Gospel Liberty? - Galatians 5

Galatians is a book centered on the believer's justification, and chapter 5 is divided into two key sections: the first speaks of our gospel liberty, while the second addresses the believer's sanctification.

Liberty, however, is not license. Many misunderstand gospel liberty, thinking that because we are saved by grace, we have no obligation to follow the law of Christ. This is a dangerous misconception.

As we work through the first half of this chapter, verse by verse, we see that our salvation is secured by Christ alone. He has accomplished everything necessary for our souls, and no amount of works can add to our salvation. Instead of diminishing our responsibility, this truth strengthens our obligation to uphold the law and live lives that reflect our Saviour.
